Shalom! I’m Kameela Terry—a Certified Labor Doula and future Midwife—providing emotional, physical, spiritual, and informational support to pregnant women and their partners. I’m the founder of Reclaiming Our Womb Doula Services, LLC, currently serving families throughout North and South Carolina.
I began my journey as a birth worker at the age of sixteen and have been supporting women in labor, delivery, and postpartum in various ways since then. It wasn’t until 2022, after witnessing the discrimination and disregard shown during a client’s delivery, that I became deeply passionate about this calling. That experience opened my eyes to the urgent need for advocacy, representation, and emotional support—especially for mothers of color. From that moment, I knew birth work was more than a service—it was a ministry.
With years of heartfelt service and 3 years as a certified doula, I approach each birth space with love, faith, and an unwavering commitment to women and families. As a devoted wife and mother of five, I bring both personal experience and professional expertise, understanding firsthand the sacredness of birth. I’ve experienced both vaginal and cesarean deliveries—and while I hoped my last would be a VBAC, that opportunity was denied due to a lack of informed support. That experience continues to fuel my passion to ensure other women have the information and advocacy they need to make empowered decisions.
Currently, I’m advancing my credentials with training as a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator. I’ve also completed the RAO Community Health Novant Doula Program, among others. Currently, a Certified Doula through DONA, the next step on my career path is to become a Midwife.
Through Reclaiming Our Womb, I proudly support all birthing people—especially women of color—in reclaiming their womb, their voice, and their vision for birth. Whether in hospitals, birthing centers, or at home, I believe in informed choice, holistic support, and honoring every birth as sacred. My personal mantra guides my work:
“This is more than birth support. It’s ministry. It’s love in action. It’s faith in every step.”
Empowering your birth, embracing your soul, and Reclaiming Our Womb—it’s a privilege to walk with you during this sacred journey.
