Shalom, Shalom!!
I am Kameela Terry a Certified Labor and Postpartum Doula, providing emotional, physical, spiritual and informational support to pregnant women and their partners. I am the founder of Reclaiming Our Womb Doula Services, LLC, currently servicing areas of North and South Carolina.
I began my journey as a birth worker at the age of sixteen and have been supporting women in labor and delivery ever since. I became serious and passionate about this path in 2022 after witnessing first-hand the discrimination and disregard during a client’s delivery. In that moment I realized the need of advocacy and emotional support for mothers of color was needed more than ever! I am passionate about empowering my clients to make informed decisions about their delivery and ensuring their voices are heard in all situations.
Outside of supporting clients in labor I am a mother of four. As a result of my deliveries, I’ve experience births both vaginally and by cesarean section. With hopes of my last pregnancy ending in a VBAC but due to the lack of information, I was denied that right.
The mission of Reclaiming Our Womb Doula Services is to bring awareness to women of color in that they have a voice and right to excellent care. Reminding them that their wombs belong to them, and they aren’t one thirds of a person. Our organization strives to help women realize their bodies were designed to give birth and are more powerful than they may realize.
It’s a privilege to be considered to support you or your loved one through this momentous time!
